The One Thing We All Want

AERIAL-PHOTOGRAPHY-MARIN-SONOMA20150418_0037-8ced578b61

As I was grieving over the recent violence and deaths in Charleston, I learned something this week that broke my heart even further. A family acquaintance had been arrested and jailed for a serious crime. Someone I never would have expected. For a shocking crime I never would have imagined.

As I contemplated these events, I asked the questions we all ask, “How does this happen?” “How does someone find themselves in such dire circumstances that they would resort to such incomprehensible acts?”

And, then I looked deep within me to see how my thoughts, habits, words and actions might have contributed–if even just a small part–to the current mayhem.

You see, the One Thing We All Want is to make a difference. To find purpose in our lives. We want our lives to matter in this world. For the better.

But when we veer from our Divine callings, from our purpose-filled lives–a little or a lot–we suffer. In big and small ways. All of us. Because we are all connected.

I’ve heard it said that when a butterfly flaps its wings in one part of the world, we feel its effects everywhere. A butterfly. How true for us humans as well.

It’s easy just to stay stuck, satisfied, and “safe.” But, that’s the beginning of a purpose-less life. One that doesn’t make a difference, or at least not much of one.

The good news is that I see our Wellness community filled with purpose-full people. Ones who want to change the world. Persons who desire to expend our lives for the sake of others. Those who find joy in living out our callings in the highest ways possible.

And we can do this through Commitment and Connection. Commitment to our Godly Callings. And Connection with each other. Because we need each other’s support to help us stay true to our Commitment.

So, in honor of the 9 heroic persons who gave their lives in Charleston, I would like to offer our Wellness Community a challenge. A 7-Day Total Wellness Challenge. Because we can’t have Commitment and Connection without Wellness. We can’t live out our Sacred Purpose without Total Wellness of Body, Mind & Soul.

If you’re interested in joining me in this 7-Day Total Wellness Challenge, here’s the way it will look.

Starting this Monday, June 29, for 7 days I will blog daily with a “Simple Wellness Tip that will Silence your Inner Critic and Rock Your World.” Fun, simple ways to increase your Wellness. That’s my commitment to you.

If you want to join me in this 7-Day Total Wellness Challenge, I’ll ask you to read the blog (it won’t be long!), and consider implementing the Simple Wellness Tips over the days and weeks ahead. That’s the Challenge. Commitment.

But, I’ll plan to make it worth your while. And, maybe you’ll like the tips so much that you’ll want to share on the blogs, our Facebook page, and other social media. Connection.

And, I believe as you find enhanced Total Wellness, you will be more inclined and more equipped to live out your Unique Purpose. A Purpose that you and only you can fulfill. A Calling for which you were born. One that will take every ounce of a healthy Body, Mind & Soul.

Let’s do this together. For the Divine. For ourselves. And for our beautiful world.

If you are willing to join me in the 7-Day Total Wellness Challenge, please comment below, “I’m In!” Blessings to all of us as we experience this challenge together!

It appears I’ll have to catch up with your Wellness Challenge one week late. Going in for open heart surgery tomorrow will somewhat delay my participation. Truly looking forward to who and what I meet in the hospital. You have already given me a fresh outlook and inlook.
