How to Lose Weight but Never Go Hungry Again (Part 7): Eat Dessert First!
This is the 7th Wellness Tip in our 8-part weight loss series that began 7 weeks ago and will continue for the next week.
These tips confirm you don’t have to be hungry in order to lose weight.
Wellness Tip #7: Eat dessert first!
Our body has a sweet tooth for a reason. Sugar fuels our cells with the energy they need to perform at optimal levels. Sugar gives us energy and balances our hormones.
But, not just any ole’ sugar will do. We need to eat the right kind of sugar!
Unprocessed sugar that occurs naturally in fruits gives our body what it needs without any of the side effects. No high blood sugar worries. No blood sugar crashes.
The fiber in fruits pairs with the natural fruit sugar to enter our bloodstream slowly and then move to our cells as needed.
Processed sugars and artificial sweeteners, not so much.
Here are some healthy, delicious treats for your sweet tooth. Try using them in place of sugary, heavily processed desserts.
• Any raw fruits such as apples, oranges, peaches, pears, plums, and grapes.
• Any kind of berries.
• Frozen bananas or berries.
• Homemade fruit sorbet/ice cream.
The Experiment: Enjoy making this Homemade Banana Ice Cream (from Happy Herbivore Light & Lean):
• 2 frozen bananas
• ¼ cup nondairy milk
• ¼ tsp. vanilla extract
• ¼ tsp. cinnamon
• 1-2 T. unsweetened cocoa (optional)
Blend ingredients in a blender/food processor until smooth and creamy.
