Here’s A Wellness Tip That’s Simple and Free!
Taking a nap is free. It’s simple. And, it can be refreshing if we don’t sleep too long.
Research shows it can restore our optimal physical, mental and emotional health in just 10-30 minutes daily.
We don’t even have to go to sleep to get benefits. Just closing our eyes and breathing deeply while sitting at our desk or lying on a couch or the floor does wonders for our brain and body.
Our heart rate and blood pressure decrease. Our concentration and focus increase. Energy levels surge.

The Experiment: Set aside 10-30 minutes one day this week for a power nap. Best hours are between 1-3 p.m. Set your cell phone or watch alarm for 30 minutes so that you don’t oversleep.
Consider darkening the room or even wearing an eye mask if the daylight is a problem for you. Don’t worry about falling asleep. Just take some deep breaths, close your eyes, and relax your body. You may even want to try this daily for one week as your schedule permits.
Silence Your Inner Critic: We don’t think we have time for a nap. We think we would be considered lazy if we take a nap. Just let those thoughts go. Try the experiment anyway. Something free and easy just might be worth the effort! Even on a regular basis!
